What are my options with sedation dentistry?

During your visit, Dr. Kim can talk about the choices available, depending on the procedure that you are undergoing. Patients may choose whether they would like to receive an oral sedative, intravenous sedation (IV), or nitrous oxide. The oral sedative is usually provided prior to your arrival, while the IV and nitrous oxide are administered while at our facility. Those who are under the deeper sedation will be monitored by a trained and qualified anesthesiologist, which means that Dr. Kim will focus on the procedure instead of constantly monitoring vitals.

When undergoing sedation dental care, some of the most commonly performed treatments include dental implants, porcelain veneers, and full mouth restoration. Dr. Kim is able to perform both general dentistry and cosmetic procedures while you are under sedation. Although some procedures may require several visits, the use of sedation dentistry allows for fewer visits since the patient can be sedated for a longer period of time.
